Does Similarity Mean “Common Ancestry”?

Have you ever heard the term homology before? It refers to the similarities we see among living things, and it’s considered a textbook example of evolution.

But just because something is similar doesn’t mean that it had a common ancestor.

Consider a bicycle and a motorcycle—they’re similar because they’re designed for the same purpose and to function in a similar environment., It’s not because they have a common ancestor!

And it’s the same in the living world. Living things were all made by a common designer to live in the same world and perform the same basic purposes.

So it’s no surprise that God used a similar design!
